Wenceslas Square
Wenceslas Square has witnessed many of the events in the recent history of Prague and the Czech Republic in general. Formerly the horse market founded in 1348 was located in it.
The square has an elongated shape and measures 750 meters long by 60 meters wide. The buildings that surround it are mostly hotels, restaurants and fashion shops.
The most famous building on the square is the National Museum of Prague, building completed in 1890.
The most important event that happened in Wenceslas Square happened in November 1989, when a demonstration against police brutality started the Velvet Revolution and the fall of communism.
Best during the day
Although this square has to visit and know it, we can not say that it is especially beautiful, since it is not pedestrian and rather looks like a great avenue. When it gets dark, the atmosphere may not be liked by most visitors.
